AutoCAD Crack+ Free X64 (Updated 2022)

In 2015, nearly 8 million people were using AutoCAD worldwide. AutoCAD is used by architects, engineers, drafters, illustrators, and students. In the United States alone, AutoCAD was used in over one million commercial construction projects, including aerospace, automotive, and building services. In 2016, AutoCAD was used by architects and engineers to create and manage maps, utilities, and CAD models of infrastructure and building projects. Autodesk also released AutoCAD Map 3D, a web-based mapping platform.

History and usage

AutoCAD was created by Frank Tipler, who was working at Georgia Tech when he developed AutoCAD in 1982.

Autodesk published the first version of AutoCAD for the Apple II in 1982. Later versions of AutoCAD, including later releases for the Macintosh, were available for non-commercial use only.

With the release of AutoCAD in 1982, Autodesk began the process of creating AutoCAD as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, selling access to AutoCAD’s cloud-based cloud computing platform through the subscription model, such as Microsoft Office 365. With the shift, AutoCAD became available for subscription-based use in addition to its previous commercial use. Autodesk has since expanded this model to other software products.

By 2009, Autodesk’s AutoCAD used annual sales of $850 million and was on its way to becoming the largest desktop CAD (computer aided design) application in use.

In 2008, Autodesk released AutoCAD 2008, AutoCAD for OS X. AutoCAD 2008’s revamped user interface was the first version of AutoCAD to be developed with usability in mind.

In 2009, Autodesk released AutoCAD 2009. Although previous versions of AutoCAD were also used to create Autodesk software products such as ViewCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor, Autodesk introduced this version of AutoCAD to help companies more easily collaborate with each other and to streamline the process of creating and updating documents.

In 2010, Autodesk released AutoCAD 2010. The release included a number of changes, such as the ability to customize the user interface (UI) and to create and store drawing views. The release also included the ability to create and edit 3

Multi-View PDF support

AutoCAD LT is offered as a subscription-based software, or as a perpetual license on a per-seat basis for users who need to install software on a desktop or server. In addition, the Autodesk 2011 Portfolio, which includes AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD WS, can be purchased on a per-seat basis, as well as per-user basis, by a number of different groups, including enterprises, design firms and government entities.

The 2012 edition also includes new features, including:
User-created families: Users can create new family objects and instantly share these with other users.
Mapping: users can get familiar with the type of mapping done by the same features that have a specific action in AutoCAD LT.
Training: users can take training videos, go through the online training and follow the tutorials to learn different types of training, from Video Training Manuals, to complete online training, and from AutoCAD LT Tutorial to AutoCAD LT Master.
New DWG and DXF templates: new drawings can be edited with DWG templates, and can be shared with other users.

AutoCAD LT, the AutoCAD Extended Training Edition, was the first version of AutoCAD released outside of the United States. It was introduced in April 2006, and can run on both Windows and Macintosh OS X.

AutoCAD LT is an AutoCAD-based program similar to AutoCAD, AutoCAD WS, or AutoCAD Architectural Desktop, but is designed for educational and commercial use. It is available as a perpetual license or a subscription-based software.

AutoCAD LT has the following features:
Multiple views, including Ortho, Paraline, Cylindrical, Polar, Perspective, and 3D.
Native Windows files, including CIF, DWG and DXF formats
3D and VRML viewing
Object orientated drawing with GIS.
3D coordinate system management
Object libraries, such as design, manufacture and construction
Basic 3D modeling and construction
BIM features
Site modeling and 3D modeling
Shape-based design (
Schematic design
A full-featured browser for DXF/DWG files

In the third quarter of 2010, Autodesk launched AutoCAD LT Education Edition. This edition is limited to 20,

Lock, remove, and modify shapes with your mouse. Lock shapes so they’ll remain where you placed them. Remove or lock previously used shapes to save time. (video: 1:33 min.)

A variety of user-friendly feature improvements to facilitate markups in a more intuitive and familiar way.

A brand-new shape-locking feature, allowing you to lock specific shapes for use repeatedly. The “Complete Shape,” “Snap to Shape,” and “Snapping” features have been improved to enhance overall performance. The “Measure” and “Select Edit” commands have been improved to simplify the selection process.

A new “Lock Shapes” option in the ribbon enables you to quickly and easily lock specific shapes to preserve their locations.

Geometric improvements to the grid:

A variety of geometric improvements to the grid system.

In 2D drawings, you can now apply any of three types of grid to any view:

Horizontal (x-axis) and Vertical (y-axis) with or without an added diagonal (z-axis)

with or without an added diagonal (z-axis) Horizontal (x-axis) and Vertical (y-axis) with or without an added diagonal (z-axis) and Diagonal (xy-axis) with or without an added horizontal (xz-axis) and vertical (yz-axis)

With an added horizontal and vertical grid, you can also see the “x” and “y” axes, respectively.

Diagonal (xy-axis) and “Bisect” grids show the diagonal lines you need to create an orthogonal grid.

Grid sizes are now adjustable, and you can set the grid type for all newly created drawings.

Grid lines can be assigned to properties or are inherited. You can set grid settings as a grid profile (line style).

All drawings, even “un-gridded” drawings, can be displayed with grids.

A graphical guide shows you how to set and use grid properties.

A default or custom view (defined in the “Default View” option of the “3D Modeling” preferences) is saved with all drawings. The “Reset View” option restores a drawing’s view to its default state.
